Throughout my life, I have been fascinated by legends. Gods and people of myth were always so complex, so flawed, so human: every myth is a way to learn about the culture it originates from, the time it originates from, and the common threads of just what it means to be human.

I first read the story of Calypso when I was very young, and likely younger than most who read The Odyssey by Homer.
